OUR TIPPING GUIDE
Tipping is a gesture of gratitude, acknowledging the effort our staff put into the success of your special event. Our clients ask us these questions all the time, below is the answer to the 2 most common asked questions.
Is a tip already included in my contract?
We as a company do not include gratuity into our contracts. Some vendor contracts will specifically add a 15% – 20% gratuity onto the total bill. We’ve seen many venues do this, catering companies, bartending companies, and yes, even wedding DJ companies too. We believe tipping should always be optional, in our opinion. If you’re less than happy with the service, being forced to tip your event vendors for a service that you were unhappy with just doesn’t seem fair. Tipping is never a requirement but it is a great way to show your gratitude if your DJ & MC and other event staff exceeded your expectations and “Rocked your dance floor"
How Much Should I Tip My entertainment team?
So you just wrapped up your event, your DJ & MC came through and performed as you expected. So how much should you tip them?
If you’re 100% happy with your service and feel a tip would be a great idea, a 15% tip would certainly be appreciated by your entertainment team. Generally, the range for an event DJ tips is 15-20% of the billed amount. If your DJ & MC were professional, worked well with you and your planner and did a truly fantastic job, consider tipping closer to the 20% end of the range.
Many times, clients will simply rather tip a flat fee instead of a percentage. Below is the average that we have received in the past.
